Sales Closer
Earn 20% of everything a client pays in their first year, then 5% for as long as they stay. Commission-only, as an independent contractor (1099). Remote, for people who live and work in West Virginia.
Velcrest Web Development designs and builds custom-coded websites for small and local businesses across West Virginia, then hosts and looks after them. We're growing and building our sales team. As the closer, you run the walk-through and ask for the sale.
You're paid on the client's whole first year
- 20% of a client's first year. On Groundwork that's $150 the day they sign, then $56.28 a month for ten more months: about $713 per client.
- $240 on a $1,200 custom website.
- 5% from year two on, every year the client stays. The clients you close keep paying you after their first year ends.
- The same 20% on clients you find yourself. Prospect on your own, close it, and you're paid at the same rate.
- A $500 bonus for you, and another for the setter, in any month the two of you sign 20 or more new clients.
What a year can look like
Signed Groundwork clients per week, for clients who stay. Your pay climbs through the year because each client pays you across their whole first year. The second figure is the yearly rate you'd be earning by month 12.
- 3 clients a week: about $71,000 in your first year, building to a pace of about $111,000 a year.
- 5 a week: about $124,000 in your first year (including the monthly bonus), building to a pace of about $185,000 a year.
These are examples of how the commission adds up at these weekly numbers, not a promise of earnings. What you earn depends on how many clients you close and how long they stay.
An offer that's simple to explain
- Groundwork is $297 a month and $594 to start (the first and last month), on a 12-month plan. It's for owners who would rather not put a few thousand dollars down up front.
- Custom websites start at $1,200.
- Care & Hosting starts at $250 a month.
- Prices are published on our site, so owners can see them before you ever speak.
Leads, found for you
Our own lead-finding software checks West Virginia businesses every weekday and flags the ones with no website, or one that's broken or badly out of date. Our email outreach runs every weekday too, and the setter turns those leads into walk-throughs on your calendar.
The role
You run walk-throughs by phone or video with business owners who want a website. You walk them through the options, answer their questions and ask for the sale. Appointments come from the appointment setter and from your own prospecting.
How it works
- Independent contractor (1099), commission only: no base pay and no draw.
- Set your own hours and work from anywhere in West Virginia.
- Calls go through a Velcrest business line, in a phone app we provide, so your personal number stays your own.
- Commission is paid monthly.
Who fits
- You've closed business-to-business sales by phone or video, ideally to small-business owners (card processing, payroll, insurance, advertising, software or similar).
- You'd rather be paid on what you close than on a salary.
- You sell honestly and without pressure.
- You live in West Virginia and you're 18 or older.
